RAY - Rideau Artist of the  Year Competition

Visual artists from all over the region are welcome to the picturesque grounds of the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum, along the heritage CP train route and the shores of the historic Rideau Canal waterway.  Each artist will select a location on Old Slys and will have one day to produce a piece representing what they see, in their medium of choice.  Each artist can choose to have their piece juried for a chance to be recognized as Rideau Artist of the year or can be showcased for the month in the museum art gallery. Prizes to be announced. The public will be welcome to tour the grounds during the date to watch the artists at work and can vote for their choice of favourite artist.  The museum will also offer seasonal treats for visitors from the canteen.

All the finished works will be on display September 16 - October 15 during regular museum hours or by appointment.
